Hey HawkLord! Haha once you finally catch her, she'll be nicer XD
Glad you are enjoying Faulty Apprentice so far! To answer your questions, we originally planned for $9.99, but due to the overwhelming response on Kickstarter, we have expanded the scope and will be adding more content. Should have a price narrowed down when we are closer to completion (in about 5months)
Cheers and thanks for playing!! -din
Just bought the demo so will i have to pay more for the full game later on?? And if so how much will the full game cost me?
wait so the demo is 5.00??
Hello, I just bought the game yesterday and I am excited to play the full game.
Quick question, is there a way to make the game go full screen or make the window bigger.
Thank you for your time.
Hey glad you are enjoying Faulty Apprentice! The demo currently does not support full screen, but we will have that feature in the full game. Thanks for playing! -din
Any plans for a Linux version ?
Upon full game release, yes. Thanks for being interested in Faulty Apprentice! -din
Some feedback: 1) the game is AMAZING! 2) The game is unable to be launched from the itch.io app. Clicking the "launch" button results in a "cannot run package" dialog that comes up. It does run ok when you click on the .exe from the right directory. I suggest you move to Electron as your app runner. 3) After saving a game I come back and choose "load" which just results in a blank page (the background image is there, but no text). 4) I was able to get the game to load by hitting enter a few times.
5) going to the sword training the game got stuck in the multiple target phase.
Super excited about this game - just thought I'd send you some feedback.
Hey triptych! We haven't explored the itchio app yet, but thank you for letting me know our software is not compatible. I'll be sure to look into that and the Electron app you recommended. There are a couple ticks with the software we are using, the load just takes and extra click to progress (for some reason). The sword training pushes the software really hard, but usually works as long as you don't click and drag the strikezone. Will look into it either way. Glad you are enjoying the game overall!! Hopefully our next build will help with some of those issues you are having. Cheers and thank you for playing! (=
Hi I understand you are using TyranoBuilder - it's probably something they need to do, potentially. I posted a comment on the steam support forum for tyranobuilder about it.
However if there is an HTML out version of your game you can wrap it in Electron very easily: http://electron.atom.io/ (main site ) http://tutorialzine.com/2015/12/creating-your-first-desktop-app-with-html-js-and-electron/ (note that article is like 2 years old so it's way faster and more advanced now. Clients like Slack use electron to wrap their HTML app.)
Hey, thanks for reporting! I'm looking into it :)
Which version of itch were you seeing issues with? I'm able to install & run it fine, both with and without the itch.io sandbox.
I went to the tab with the game. Here's a screenshot:
After I clicked the "launch" button, I got a Node WebKit window for a moment, then this error window shows up:
So Node Webkit is trying to load the game, but it for some reason is showing this error. I'm guessing it's because the exe is getting run, but the folder context is lost somehow and cannot run the game. This is in Windows 10.
Ah, I get it now! I was trying to run the *other* Faulty Apprentice.
I'm able to reproduce the issue. Here's what I can gather so far:
- The bug only happens on *first* start-up (subsequent starts work fine)
- On first startup, the game logs contain an error (not being able to initialize the web db)
- The directory where the game is launched is definitely correct (the itch app handles that correctly) - but I suspect the TMP/TEMP environment variables might be the problem.
This is a really cool and fun little RPG/Dating Sim. The visuals are colorful and pretty to look at, the music is nice listen too, and the games story is rather intriguing. I love visual novels and own a ton of them through steam, especially ones that allow you to pursue romance arks. Yeah I'm a dork ^_^ but I love playing them. But most of them are usually a still image and just text. It's nice to see one that has animation with its characters and have RPG elements with a small amount of combat. A fun and good to see take on a VN concept and I can't wait to check out the full release once it is done. I did a video on my experience with the demo if anyone is interested.
A SMART WIZARD INDEED | Faulty Apprentice [Demo]
Hey thanks for sharing the awesome video! I am glad the effort we put into making our visual novel games go above and beyond still images with text is appreciated! Thanks for pointing out the spelling errors too, I am terrible with spelling so thats totally my fault XD. Will definitely be fixing them for the next build though! Thanks for playing Maineiacs! (=
is this the full working demo? I played this a while back but it was still at an early stage?
Hey Fellow! The version in your video was an alpha build, so this one is a lot more developed and designed for (All ages). So you wont see any "rude" imagery. The prologue is still the same though, so feel free to skip that if you replay.
Thanks for still being interested in the game! We are working hard on the full version (=
